Shopkins are a range of small collectible toys manufactured by Moose Toys. According to grocery items, each plastic figure has a recognizable face and a unique name. They also have special finishes such as translucent, glossy or soft. Collectible Toys (which are designated as common, rare, ultra Rare, Special Edition, limited edition, and exclusive) also have clothing lines, trading cards, and other commodities.

Shopkins was designed and developed by Moose Toys in Melbourne. Co-chief Paul Solomon credited his mother Jacqui Tobias, director of products for girls, for the idea of Shopkins. Moose Toys succeeded with his line of Trash Pack and collectible gang figures that were geared towards children, but in general lacked a market for girls. Shopkins was initially produced as a similar product for girls, but attracts both sexes.

Shopkins figurines are about 1 inch tall and 1/2 inches wide, roughly the size of a quarter of the United States. Each statuette has a face, a name and its own personality. They are distributed in brightly coloured containers with bubble letters. Shopkins are based on grocery items like a sweet Apple named Apple Blossom, a chocolate bar called cheeky chocolate, a lipstick called lippy lips, and a chocolate biscuit called kooky cookie.

There are hundreds of shopkins in the world of Shopkins. Shopkins are organized into categories like sweets or bakery. Shopkins are collected and valued based on their rarity. Moose Toys classify Shopkins rarity classifications as common, exclusive, limited, rare, special edition, and Ultra Rare edition.
